The Role:
As Sales Executive your ideas and actions won’t just matter, they’ll help shape the direction of the business. This isn’t just another sales job; it’s a chance to build and influence the way in which the company connects with their customers from the ground up. As the first person in this function, you’ll be laying the foundations for sales processes, helping define their go-to-market strategy, and playing a key role in their growth journey. In a start-up, things evolve quickly, and this role is no exception. You’ll have the autonomy to experiment and learn, with your feedback directly influencing how they scale. We’re looking for someone who’s proactive, adaptable, and ready to roll up their sleeves to generate new business, playing a pivotal role in company success.
Responsibilities:
🔍 Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and target potential clients in key sectors, predominantly SMEs in the first instance.
- Research industry trends and market data to develop lead lists.
- Build and maintain a database of prospects and manage follow-ups using our CRM system
- Utilise proactive outreach methods such as cold calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn prospecting, and attending industry events, to initiate new relationships.
📞 Sales Outreach & Relationship Building
- Initiate first contact and set up meetings for the H&S Consultant, with key decision-makers (e.g. HSE Managers, Facilities Directors, Operations leaders).
- Build strong, consultative relationships with prospects to understand their needs and challenges around health and safety, compliance, audits, fire and risk assessments.
💼 Solution Selling
- Present products and services in a way that resonates with the client’s pain points.
- Tailor proposals and service offerings to meet specific client needs.
- Collaborate with consultants for more complex or specialised solutions.
📈 Sales Pipeline & CRM Management
- Own and manage the full sales funnel—from prospecting to closing.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, conversations, and opportunities in the CRM system.
- Report regularly on pipeline status, conversion rates, and sales forecasts.
🧱 Sales Process Building
- Help shape and refine the sales process, scripts, pitch decks, and objection-handling playbooks.
- Identify tools, templates, or technologies needed to scale outreach efforts.
- Lay the groundwork for future hires or a growing sales team.
🤝 Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Company Director to align on campaigns, messaging, and content that attracts new clients.
- Provide feedback to leadership on customer needs, pricing insights, and market trends.
🎯 Targets & KPIs
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for lead generation, meetings booked, proposals sent, and revenue closed.
- Track performance metrics and continuously optimize outreach strategies.
🗂️ Administration
- Manage calendars and schedule meetings for internal and client-facing appointments.
- Handle email correspondence and follow-ups in a timely, professional manner.
- Organise and maintain digital and physical files, documents, and records.
- Update CRM systems and client records to ensure accurate data.
- Carry out other ad hoc administrative tasks to support business needs.

Skills & Experience:
- 💼 Proven B2B sales experience, ideally in professional services or consultancy environments.
- 🎯 Track record of winning new business and consistently achieving sales targets.
- 📞 Confident in cold outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and face-to-face.
- 🗣️ Strong communication and presentation skills, able to engage with decision-makers and build trust.
- 🧠 Commercially savvy, with the ability to understand client challenges and position tailored solutions.
- 🧰 Comfortable working with CRMs and sales tools to manage pipelines and report performance.
