<p><strong>The Role:</strong></p>

<p>The Grants &amp; Administration Officer is pivotal in supporting the effective administration of community grants that help improve local places, strengthen community pride, and support grassroots initiatives. As Grants &amp; Administration Officer you will ensure the smooth management of the grant process, from application through to monitoring and reporting, while maintaining robust administrative systems that support transparency, compliance, and best practice. You will also help coordinate key organisational processes relating to grant allocation, community engagement, and project oversight in line with organisational policies. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to positive, place&#8209;based change and help local groups deliver meaningful improvements in their communities.</p>

<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>

<ul>
	<li>Support the administration and management of community grants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all submissions in line with due diligence requirements</li>
	<li>Assess and process applications, forwarding them to the relevant internal panels or external decision-making bodies, and maintaining well&#8209;organised digital and physical records of all grant documentation.</li>
	<li>Circulate grant information to community organisations, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring clear guidance is available, signposting applicants to additional funding opportunities where relevant.</li>
	<li>Maintain up&#8209;to&#8209;date resources, including application forms, guidance notes, monitoring templates, and other materials required by applicants and internal personnel supporting community development activity.</li>
	<li>Develop and maintain effective communication links with local authorities, community organisations, funders, and other strategic partners involved in delivering voluntary objectives.</li>
	<li>Communicate with applicants throughout the grant process, including acknowledging applications, requesting further information when required, and informing applicants of funding decisions.</li>
	<li>Monitor compliance and impact, following up with funded organisations to ensure timely submission of monitoring reports, case studies, financial evidence, and other documentation demonstrating project progress and impact.</li>
	<li>Support outreach and engagement activity to raise awareness and encourage applications from a diverse range of community groups, particularly those with limited experience of grant funding.</li>
	<li>Work with funded groups to understand and evidence improvements to local places, spaces, and community pride resulting from their projects.</li>

<p><strong>Skills, Experience &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p>

<p>Essential:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Demonstrable experience of administration, programme support or community development.</li>
	<li>Understands community organisations local partnership working and not-for-profit sectors.</li>
	<li>Proficient in managing budgets, tracking expenditures and reporting processes to funders.</li>
	<li>Possesses a good level of Education including GCSEs in English and Maths, with a high degree of numeracy.</li>
	<li>IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.</li>
	<li>Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
	<li>Confident interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, the public, partnership organisations and suppliers.</li>
	<li>Able to manage a varied workload whilst maintaining exacting attention to detail.</li>
	<li>Committed to providing a premium level of customer care.</li>
	<li>Organised and flexible with the ability to adapt to change.</li>
	<li>Understands the importance of confidentiality, particularly within a finance setting.</li>
	<li>Works successfully as part of a team as well as on own initiative.</li>
	<li>Inherently passionate about supporting the community and voluntary sector.</li>

<p>Desirable:</p>

	<li>Experience of grants administration and / or community projects.</li>
	<li>Experience of assisting with the production of Finance reports.</li>
	<li>A qualification in administration, business, community development or a related field.</li>
	<li>Confidence with minute taking</li>
	<li>Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.</li>
	<li>Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.</li>
	<li>Ability to communicate in Welsh.</li>

The role will suit an experienced Conveyancer with knowledge of freehold transactions, and either the existing expertise or ambition to develop within leasehold, new builds and remortgaging. The role can either be located in Cardiff or Cwmbran, with opportunities for hybrid working.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As a Conveyancer / Solicitor / Property Lawyer / Legal Executive, you will join the firm with no expectation to carry a pre-existing caseload. Instead, you will commence with zero files, building a manageable caseload at a steady pace, in line with your experience and expertise.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">You will manage a caseload which incorporates freehold transactions, taking responsibility of your files from inception through to post-completion. For those with expertise within leasehold, remortgage and / or new build transactions, you will also manage sales and purchases within this remit.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">There is no expectation to have a client following and no requirement for business development. However, there are ample opportunities to support with business growth, either through service excellence or proactive relationship management. In either instance, you will have a commitment to customer service, providing the highest standards of legal insight and care, to private customers, legal professionals and introducers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">In return, you will be supported by a diligent team of Legal Assistants, working within a collaborative environment. You&rsquo;ll have opportunities to share your experience, providing training and mentorship to your colleagues and supporting their own professional development.
